Abstrakt

Correlation between the developed tribofilm in field applications of dry automotive clutches and those reproduced in the laboratory using a pinion-disk tribometer for three different gravity conditions

In this work, the tribofilm development mechanisms in three severities in field application were correlated with those simulated in a pin-on-disk tribometer. It was found that the tribofilm properties depend on the application severity. Furthermore, due to the parity between the tribosystem properties of the test model and the field conditions, the pin-on-disk tribometer can reproduce the same mechanisms identified in the field.
