In this study, the static and fatigue analysis of the rims of three different electric bicycles coupled with electric wheel hub motors was investigated. The rims were subjected to loading conditions to simulate the driving forces acting on the road conditions. The analysis results of the three rims were compared. According to the results, sharp edges increase the Von Mises stresses and reduce the fatigue safety factor due to the stress concentration at the corners. In addition, it was observed that the contact area of the spokes with the flange affects the total deformation and Von Mises stress distribution. Three-dimensional models of the rims were designed using CATIA V5 and their computational analyses were performed using the ANSYS WORKBENCH software program.
