Quality aspects are becoming more important day by day as they have a great impact on the final product. The automotive industry is also aware of this fact as the quality analysis of automotive sheet metal is an important issue. Nowadays, most quality analysis systems are implemented outside the production line and are operated manually. In this work, an autonomous system is proposed that allows the automatic quantification and classification of the defects generated by the pressing process in the sheets of the vehicle body. The system consists of a motorized system for image acquisition, an algorithm for extracting the geometric information of the obtained image and a system based on fuzzy logic for classifying the defects measured according to the geometric parameters.
